When was the last time you visited Downtown Sevierville, Tennessee?  The three communities of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville are often thought of as the communities of the Smoky Mountains.  Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have always gained most the attention while Sevierville was more of the "bedroom community" where people lived and small town businesses flourished.

Everyone knows Sevierville as the hometown of Dolly Parton, and Sevierville can and does thank Dolly for the many opportunities her fame as brought the community.  Dolly has invested in the community and given back in ways no one may have imagined.  Residents and visitors alike benefit from her gracious work in the county.  From education to health care, Dolly has left her imprint on future generations of those who experience Sevierville, Tennessee. Her contributions to the area outside of Dollywood include the World Wide Imagination Library, The Women's Birthing Center at The LeConte Medical Center, and an array of educational programs that have brought scholarships to kids, raising the graduation rate tremendously in the area.

Sevierville is home to Walters State Community College which is a huge asset to the area.  Through the Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect, students can gain education, often at no cost to the student. Education opportunities and job placements in the area are strong for young people and families.

New to Downtown Sevierville is a beautiful new look with underground utilities and many new shops and restaurants opening.  Many of the restaurants and buildings incorporate parts of their past to make them a very interesting combination of dining opportunities that are separate from the more touristy areas of the county.
